By Michael DeLuca | 10:04 am EDTGNC, the nation’s largest pharmacy chain, has become the latest company to get caught up in the growing debate over erectile disorders and penis enlargement.
The company announced a $2 million study to look into the effectiveness of erectile aids.
The study, called the Penis Enhancing System Study, was published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine on Thursday.
The study is designed to test whether the pill, a generic version of the same medication used by GNC to help prevent erectile dysfunctions, could be helpful for people with erectile difficulties.
The drug, called Nurofen Plus, is sold under the brand name Osterone.
It’s used to treat erectile and ejaculatory disorders.GNC said it is working with a large, independent scientific advisory panel to investigate the efficacy of the pill and will present results in the next 12 months.
